CETB - Cinema Ad Campaign, Cork

The Brief

We at 528 Creative, in collaboration with Hopkins Communications, partnered with Cork College of FET to create a vibrant cinema ad and supporting social content that would inspire post-Leaving Cert students and their parents. The brief was to showcase the breadth of courses and campus life across Morrison’s Island, Douglas Street, Tramore Road, Mallow, and Kinsale-delivering a modern, energetic, and inclusive message. We balanced cinematic pace with clarity, incorporated Irish and English voiceovers, and responded to detailed client feedback (updated signage shots, refined kitchen visuals, and pacing) to produce a polished campaign timed to support CETB open days.

FILMING EQUIPMENT

  • Sony FX6 Camera - Main cine body for big-screen-ready visuals.
  • Sony G-Master Lenses (14mm, 24mm, 35mm, 70-200mm) - From sweeping campus wides to crisp classroom close-ups.
  • DJI Inspire 2 Drone - Aerials showcasing campus scale and location.
  • DJI RS4 Pro Gimbal & Easy-Rig - Smooth, controlled motion during walk-and-talks and tracking sequences.
  • Aputure LS C120d II with Light Dome & Nanlite Tubes - Consistent, flattering lighting for interviews and interiors.

PROCESS

  1. Pre-Production Planning - We mapped multi-campus shoot days, coordinated student participation, secured permissions (including drone), and built shot lists to hit priority departments and facilities.
  2. Filming Across Campuses - We captured student life, practical learning (kitchens, labs, workshops), and campus exteriors/interiors to convey scale, energy, and diversity.
  3. Cinematic Execution - We used stabilised movement for dynamic tracking through classrooms and corridors, pairing fast, engaging coverage with clean cutaways and details.
  4. Sound & Visual Design - We selected upbeat music, layered sound design, and added clear text overlays; we recorded/delivered VO in Irish and English for maximum reach.
  5. Post-Production & Revisions - We produced cinema, web, and social cuts; addressed client notes on signage, kitchen updates, and end-card messaging/CTA; and mastered files to spec ahead of open days.

DELIVERABLES

  • 30-second cinema ad (theatrical master)

RESULTS

  • Launched a cinema-quality spot that positioned Cork College of FET as dynamic, modern, and student-focused.
  • Drove strong social engagement with platform-native edits tailored to younger audiences.
  • Delivered on schedule to support open-day marketing, with clear calls-to-action and consistent brand presentation.
  • Provided a reusable content suite (cinema, web, and social) to extend the campaign’s lifespan across channels.
