Go Quest

The Brief

We at 528 Creative worked with GoQuest and Hopkins Communications to create a fast-paced, energetic TV commercial that showcases all the excitement and variety of their indoor challenge arena. GoQuest offers a range of interactive rooms designed to test physical, mental, and problem-solving skills, making it a top spot for families, friends, and team-building in Dublin.

This project was all about showing the range of experiences for both kids and adults. Our personal favourite part of the finished piece is at 0:13, where the camera appears to pass seamlessly through the floor in one take, though it was actually two separate takes stitched together, so viewers instantly understand that the GoQuest Junior and GoQuest Arena areas are separate but part of the same building, but on two floors! Clever eh?

Sound design and SFX were really important in the final piece to bring the challenges, games, and interactive elements of GoQuest to life, adding to the energy and fun of the experience.

Our brief was to create a fast-paced, fun piece that captured the laughs, excitement, and immersive energy that GoQuest delivers.

THE CLIENT

FILMING EQUIPMENT

  • Cameras: We used two Sony FX6 cameras to capture high-quality footage, ensuring cinematic visuals and flexibility during the shoot.
  • Lenses: A selection of Sony G-Master lenses (14mm, 24mm, 35mm) were used to achieve a variety of shots, from wide-angle views to detailed close-ups.
  • Lighting: The Aputure 120D Mark II provided key lighting, while Nanlite tubes were employed for accent lighting, adding depth and atmosphere to the scenes.
  • Stabilization: The DJI RS4 Pro gimbal ensured smooth, dynamic shots, allowing for fluid movement through the different challenge rooms.
  • Additional Gear: An Easy-Rig was used to support the camera operator during handheld shots, reducing fatigue and maintaining stability. This also looks super profesh!

PROCESS

  1. Pre-production Planning: We collaborated with GoQuest and Hopkins Communications to understand the brand's objectives and target audience, ensuring the ad's concept aligned with GoQuest's offerings.
  2. Location Setup: We prepared the GoQuest Arena and GoQuest Junior areas, ensuring each challenge room was ready for filming and safely accessible.
  3. Filming: We captured footage using the Sony FX6 cameras, employing the selected lenses and lighting equipment to highlight the vibrant atmosphere of GoQuest.
  4. Creative Transitions:We executed the unique floor-through-camera transition to visually represent the connection between the two areas.
  5. Post-production: We edited the footage to create a cohesive narrative, incorporating the split-screen effect and dynamic pacing to emphasise the diverse experiences at GoQuest.

RESULTS

The final TV commercial effectively showcased the variety and excitement of GoQuest's indoor challenge arena. The ad was broadcasted on Sky TV and shared across social media platforms, reaching a wide audience and generating increased interest in GoQuest's offerings. Our creative approach and high-quality production contributed to a very positive reception from viewers, reinforcing GoQuest's position as a leading destination for interactive entertainment in Dublin.
