ProHurling - Ireland’s First Online Hurling eAcademy

The Brief

We at 528 Creative were delighted to partner with the founders of ProHurling - Patrick Horgan, Eoghan Cronin, and Cian Forde - to bring their vision to life: Ireland’s first online eLearning academy for hurling. At the concept stage, the team needed more than just video production; they needed a strong digital presence, professional branding, and high-impact launch content to make the idea a reality.

To support them, we collaborated with Noise Agency, who handled the website build and branding, while our role focused on producing dynamic video content to showcase the academy and its offerings. We created a cinematic 30 second hero advert with motion graphics for use in paid ads, alongside over 20 eLearning videos. These lessons combined structured coaching demonstrations, multiple camera angles, match highlights, slow-motion analysis, and replay sequences to give young players aged 5-16 the tools to learn, practice, and improve their hurling skills.

FILMING EQUIPMENT

Sony FX6 Camera - We used this to capture professional cinematic footage of lessons, coaching sessions, and studio segments.
Sony A7III Camera - Used as a secondary body for flexibility in capturing a variety of angles.
Sony G-Master Lenses (14mm, 24mm, 35mm, 70-200mm, 50mm) - We shot everything from wide training pitches and group drills to detailed close-ups of hurling techniques and hand positions.
DJI Inspire 2 Drone - We captured sweeping aerials of training grounds and match settings to add cinematic scale.
DJI Ronin 2 & Tilta Armor Man - Essential for smooth, dynamic tracking shots during fast-paced drills and match simulations.
Aputure LS C120d II with Light Dome & Nanlite Tubes - Provided consistent, professional lighting for indoor coaching sessions and studio shoots.
Godox AD600PRO TTL Flash - Used for stills, ensuring sharp, crisp imagery for promotional materials and social media.

PROCESS

Pre-Production Planning - We worked with the ProHurling founders to define the vision, ensuring the structure of the content matched their long-term eLearning strategy. Collaborating with Noise Agency, we aligned the brand look and feel across video and web.
Filming - We filmed structured lessons with professional players, capturing both staged drills and real match highlights. Multiple angles, slow motion, and replays gave clarity to technical skills.
Hero Advert - We produced a 30-second cinematic video with motion graphics designed to stop thumbs on social media, communicate the ProHurling concept instantly, and drive subscriptions.
Editing & Post-Production - We edited over 20 eLearning lessons, incorporating graphics, structured coaching breakdowns, and match inserts. We ensured the pacing suited young learners while maintaining professional polish.
Review & Delivery - We delivered all content optimised for web, social, and eLearning platforms, providing ProHurling with a launch-ready video suite.
