The Brief

We at 528 Creative were delighted to work with Rebel City Distillery to create a brand story video that showcased the history, passion, and vision behind the distillery. Founded by Robert and Bhagya Barrett, Rebel City Distillery is located in the iconic old Ford factory in Cork City, blending heritage, craft, and innovation in one place. The brief was to tell their story authentically, capture the sense of place, and create content that could live both as a long-form feature and as a shorter promotional trailer for use online.

We set out to highlight not only the distillery itself but also the story of how Robert and Bhagya met, their shared journey, and how this unique location has become the heart of their craft.

PROCESS

1. Pre-Production Planning - We worked closely with Robert and Bhagya to understand their journey, the history of the Ford factory site, and the narrative they wanted to share. Together, we crafted a structure that combined interviews, storytelling, and visuals of the distillery in action.
2. Filming - We captured exterior shots of the iconic Ford building to set the scene, followed by intimate sit-down interviews with Robert and Bhagya together, telling the story of how they met and founded Rebel City Distillery. Inside, we filmed the distilling process, the equipment, and the atmosphere of the space, balancing wide architectural shots with close-up details.
3. Storytelling Focus - We kept the shoot natural and authentic, allowing Robert and Bhagya’s personalities and passion to come through on camera while highlighting the significance of their Cork location.
4. Post-Production - We edited a long-form brand story video of over two minutes, weaving together interviews, process shots, and location footage. Alongside this, we produced a short promotional trailer designed for social media to drive engagement and direct viewers to the full video.
   

RESULTS
