Urban Sips

The Brief

We at 528 Creative partnered with Urban Sips to create a dynamic suite of content designed to promote their coffee offering across Costcutter stores nationwide. The main deliverable was a cinematic hero video with an ASMR inspired feel, focusing on sensory detail - beans tumbling, milk pouring, and steam rising - to capture the rich, indulgent essence of the brand. This video was displayed in landscape format on point-of-sale screens across Costcutter outlets nationwide and repurposed for social media campaigns.

Alongside the hero video, we photographed Urban Sips cups being prepared and served on location in Costcutter stores. These images were used for social media paid ads, in-store print displays, and nationwide promotional pop-ups. We also produced two lifestyle-focused social media videos: one depicting a hybrid worker enjoying Urban Sips during a workday, and another featuring a girl on a dog walk, highlighting convenience and everyday enjoyment.

  • Sony FX6 Cameras (x2) - Used to capture cinematic footage with rich detail and dynamic range.
  • Sony A7III Camera - Ideal for on-location lifestyle content and photography.
  • Sony G-Master Lenses (14mm, 24mm, 35mm, 70-200mm, 50mm 1.4) - Provided flexibility for close-up ASMR-style shots and wide lifestyle scenes.
  • Aputure LS C120d II with Light Dome & Nanlite Tubes - Ensured controlled, professional lighting across product and lifestyle shoots.
  • DJI RS4 Pro Gimbal & Easy-Rig - Smooth, dynamic movement for lifestyle sequences.

PROCESS

  • Pre-Production Planning - We worked with the Urban Sips team to define the creative direction, ensuring the content balanced premium coffee aesthetics with everyday lifestyle appeal.
  • Hero Video Production - We shot detailed macro and slow-motion footage, creating a sensory, ASMR-style experience that emphasised quality and indulgence.
  • On-Location Photography - We photographed Urban Sips being served in Costcutter, capturing both product and environment for versatile use across digital and print.
  • Lifestyle Social Content - We scripted and shot two scenarios, one focusing on hybrid work routines and the other on casual leisure, tailoring each video to resonate with target audiences.
  • Post-Production - We edited content for multiple formats, including widescreen hero displays, vertical social media cuts, and high-resolution stills for print.
  • Delivery - All assets were optimised for their respective platforms, from in-store POS to Instagram Reels, paid ads, and nationwide promotional materials.

RESULTS

  • Created a high-impact ASMR-style hero video used nationwide across Costcutter POS displays and social media.
  • Produced professional lifestyle content showcasing Urban Sips as both a daily work companion and a leisure indulgence.
  • Delivered a library of stills for use in print campaigns, storefront displays, and paid social ads.
  • Strengthened Urban Sips’ brand presence with content that combined sensory appeal, lifestyle relatability, and nationwide visibility.
